The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled its 2026 induction class, with a historic nod to global music influence led by the induction of Sade Adu and a posthumous honour for Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

Sade Adu stands out as the only female performer in this year’s class, marking a significant milestone for the Nigerian-born British singer. Sade Adu’s smooth blend of soul, jazz and pop has shaped contemporary music for decades. Her induction cements her legacy as one of the most distinctive and enduring voices in modern music.
Alongside her, the Hall will honour Fela Kuti with the Early Influence Award, recognising his groundbreaking role in creating Afrobeat and his lasting impact on global music and political expression. The honour places Kuti among a select group of artists whose work transcended borders and reshaped entire genres.

Other performers joining the 2026 class include Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division / New Order, Oasis, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.
In the Early Influence category, Fela Kuti is joined by Celia Cruz, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Gram Parsons.
The 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with a broadcast set for later in the year.
