The Nigeria Police Force has paraded ASP Nuhu Usman and four other officers for their roles in the killing of 28-year-old Mene Ogidi in Delta State.
On April 26,2026, Mene Ogidi went to a park to collect a parcel sent to him by an unidentified individual. Officers arrested him after they discovered a firearm inside the package. During interrogation, ASP Usman all 7egedly opened fire on the suspect, leading to his death.
Following an internal investigation, the police authorities dismissed all five officers involved in the incident. Prosecutors are set to arraign them on murder charges.
Meanwhile, investigators have intensified efforts to locate the driver who transported the parcel from Yenagoa in Bayelsa State to Delta State, where it was delivered to the deceased.
Authorities say the search for other individuals connected to the parcel is ongoing.
