Abubakar stressed that certifying a candidate’s credentials should not take months or a decade, expressing concern for Nigeria’s reputation.
“I’m a democrat by conviction and the citizen of a country that I love,” he said, underscoring his commitment.
He paid tribute to the late human rights activist Gani Fawehinmi, finding inspiration in his legacy. “Now he can truly rest in peace,” Atiku Abubakar remarked, honoring Fawehinmi’s impact.
Abubakar also praised journalist David Hundeyin as a source of inspiration and reminded everyone, “The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.”
Calling on Nigerian leaders, including figures like Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwanksaso, Abubakar asserted his determination, stating, “I will only drop the fight when the court rules.”
