The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, has announced that Primeboy is now in their custody.
The musician whose real Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin, was declared wanted on Wednesday, but voluntarily surrendered to the police by Thursday.
Hundeyin, in a statement, confirmed, “Following his being declared wanted, Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin aka Primeboy has turned himself in. He has, immediately, been taken into custody for interrogation and other necessary actions.”
The command had issued a search for Primeboy after he failed to respond to the police invitation. Primeboy became a person of interest in the investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.
CP Idowu Owohunwa, the state Commissioner of Police, had offered a reward of N1 million for any information leading to Primeboy’s arrest.
Hundeyin emphasized, “The Command equally assures that all persons found culpable in the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad will definitely be brought to justice.”
Primeboy in an interview with TVC has however claimed that he received no calls from the police. He claimed that if he got the memo, nothing would have stopped him from making an appearance with the police.
