The governor of Kaduna state, Governor Sani Uba has announced the release of abducted 287 Schoolchildren.
The former senator Uba, announced the release of the abducted pupils and staff of a joint Primary and Secondary School in Kuriga, Chikun local government areas of the State on Sunday morning.
“In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Most Merciful, I wish to announce that our Kuriga school children have been released,” said Governor Uba in a statement early Sunday morning.
Subheading 2: Expressions of Gratitude and Commendation
Recalling the abduction of about 280 schoolchildren and teachers by gunmen riding on motorcycles on March 8, 2024, Governor Uba reaffirmed his government’s commitment, in collaboration with the federal government and security agencies, to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped children.
Expressing gratitude, Governor Uba thanked President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing the safety and security of Nigerians, particularly ensuring the release of the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren unharmed.
“While the school children were in captivity, I spoke with Mr. President several times. He shared our pains, comforted us, and worked round the clock with us to ensure the safe return of the children,” the governor emphasized.
Additionally, Governor Uba commended the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, with whom he spent sleepless nights fine-tuning strategies and coordinating the operations of the security agencies, ultimately resulting in the successful outcome.
In recognition of the Nigerian Army’s efforts, Governor Sani hailed them, especially “for showing that with courage, determination, and commitment, criminal elements can be degraded and security restored in our communities.”
The governor concluded by extending gratitude to Nigerians who fervently prayed for the safe return of the schoolchildren, declaring, “This is indeed a day of joy. We give Almighty Allah all the glory.”
