Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of the late singer Mohbad, has testified before the Coroner Inquest, shedding light on the build up to the tragic incident that claimed her husband’s life.
Omowunmi’s account reveals a series of distressing incidents leading up to Mohbad‘s untimely demise on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
Mohbad’s Last Moments
Omowunmi claims that the injection a nurse gave Mohbad was caused them to rush him to the hospital.
Omowunmi recounted the fateful afternoon, Mohbad started feeling unwell, requested the air conditioner be switched on in his room. Unfortunately, the AC malfunctioned, prompting a hurried move to his son’s room. Mohbad’s last words, urging the nurse to remove the syringe, echoed in her ears as they rushed him to the hospital.
Build Up
According to Omowunmi, Mohbad’s life had been marred by incidents of bullying, psychological trauma, and an encounter with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). She revealed that since an altercation with the NDLEA on February 22nd, 2022, Mohbad had been living in fear. His paranoia escalated, leading to memory loss and even bouts of depression, leaving him vulnerable and distressed.
Mohbad’s widow also revealed that she is also living in fear right now. This is because of the threats she received after his death.
A Father’s Dream Cut Short
Omowunmi revealed Mohbad’s dreams for their son, Liam, who the musician wanted out the country. Despite financial constraints, Mohbad had aimed to secure a better future for his child by planning to fly him to Canada. His aspirations for Liam’s future were tragically cut short, leaving his widow to navigate a world of threats and uncertainties.
