Rapper Offset has been hospitalised after being shot near a major casino complex in Florida on Monday evening, according to his representatives and local authorities.
A spokesperson for the artist confirmed to TMZ that the incident occurred near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The spokesperson said the rapper is in stable condition and is currently receiving medical treatment.
“He is fine and being closely monitored,” the representative added.
Police officials reported that the shooting took place shortly after 7 p.m. in a valet area outside the venue. The victim, whose identity was not officially released by authorities, was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Law enforcement officers responded quickly to the scene, detained two individuals, and secured the area. Authorities stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public and that operations at the casino have continued as normal. An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
The shooting comes amid lingering concerns over violence in the hip-hop community. Offset is a member of the rap group Migos, whose former member Takeoff was fatally shot in November 2022.
