Ayra Starr has made it clear: she has no interest in dating someone within the music industry.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the 22-year-old music star shared her perspectives on relationships, speaking candidly with US singer Coco Jones.
“In the dream world, it wouldn’t be somebody that is in the industry,” Starr said. “Probably just like a billionaire. On a yacht. In Dubai. In a thong.”
The Grammy-nominated artist also explained her high expectations in relationships, attributing them to her lack of experience in committed relationships.
“It is hard because you have to be very careful about who you give your energy to. And I’m so happy I wasn’t really dating before I started music,” she shared. “I didn’t really know what I was missing. So now that I waited this long to date people, I have very high standards.”
Starr added that she’s willing to walk away if someone can’t meet her standards. “If it’s gonna be hard to meet it, it’s gonna be bye-bye. But also, I don’t have time for myself; talk less of a boy.”
Last month, Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, admitted that she has never fallen in love.
