Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo propelled Brentford to their third Premier League victory this season.
Pinnock powered in a header from Mbeumo’s excellent cross in the 58th minute, punishing a wasteful Chelsea in the West London derby at Stamford Bridge.
They scored their second at added 6th minute added time after 90 minutes was over. The Bees took advantage of a late corner with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez forward, Neal Maupay initiated a Brentford counter-attack, setting up Mbeumo for the second goal.
Chelsea’s closest chance in the first half, when Noni Madueke hit the woodwork, didn’t materialize into a goal. Chelsea’s poor finishing led to their ninth home defeat this year.
Brentford’s goalkeeper, Mark Flekken, was rarely tested as the visitors defended stoutly and capitalized on Chelsea’s lapses to secure the victory. This win propelled Brentford to 10th place in the table, one point and one position above Chelsea.
