Tottenham Hotspur reclaimed the top spot in the Premier League table with a 2-0 victory over Fulham. In the 36th minute, Son Heung-min scored the opening goal, assisted by Richarlison, before becoming the assistant for James Maddison’s second goal in the 51st minute.
Despite Marco Silva’s optimism before the game, Fulham couldn’t secure a win. Fulham had previously lost 13 of their last 15 League games against Tottenham. Although they had some confidence from last month’s Carabao Cup win against Spurs, they couldn’t replicate their success in this match.
Fulham had opportunities, especially in the late stages, but the hosts found the game relatively comfortable.
With this victory, Ange Postecoglou has achieved the best start to a Premier League season by a new manager, accumulating 23 points from his nine games.
