Popular Nigerian singer, Davido, also known as David Adeleke, shared his exhilarating experience of learning about the impending arrival of twins with his wife Chioma. The couple recently welcomed a boy and a girl, and Davido expressed their overwhelming joy during a guest appearance on United Masters’ Selection 005 with host Steve Stoute.
Davido openly discussed the challenges he faced, especially the devastating loss of his son, Ifeanyi. Despite the heart-wrenching situation, he persevered, retaining his faith and determination to pursue his passion. He reflected on his journey, stating, “It’s very hard. A lot of people, when those things happen to them, you’d never want to believe in God ever in your life, I’m telling you. But to still have faith and to continue doing what I love, with a great team around me, just focusing, and now we’re almost at the finish line.”
Recounting the moment he and his wife received the news, Davido revealed they were astounded. He described how they shook with astonishment upon discovering they were expecting not one, but two babies. What made it even more astonishing was that the twins were due in the same month that marked the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi, in October 2022.
“When my wife and I found out, we were shaking. It was in the same month. My son passed away last year in October, and my wife gave birth this year in October, so it’s crazy,” he exclaimed.
