Folu Adeboye, the wife of the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Enoch Adeboye has officially unveiled Horizon 2033. The international education initiative is backed by Africa Missions Global, AMG, an organization founded by Folu, announced this groundbreaking initiative on Monday.
According to AMG, the visionary project, which has been in development since 1996, aims to extend humanitarian support to 100 million Africans in the next decade. This ambitious endeavor was made public during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA in New York, United States, last Wednesday.
Fostering Collaboration
Enoch Adeboye explained that they decided to present Horizon 2033 to the UNGA to foster greater collaboration. Folu Adeboye had earlier in the year been recognized by the United Nation’s a ‘Woman of Distinction’. This is a prestigious award given to an outstanding global peace ambassador.
Adeboye emphasized that AMG had been working diligently behind the scenes.
“We prefer not to make noise, but we are active in nearly every African nation, providing schools, boreholes, and more, independently of governments,” said Adeboye.
“However, when the UN took notice and honored my wife, we believed it was time to introduce ourselves to the world for enhanced collaboration.”
‘Living beyond ourselves’
Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady of Nigeria, who was present at the initiative’s presentation, lauded the work of AMG, describing it as “overwhelming.” She commended the RCCG general overseer and his wife for being inspirational figures and living examples of the idea that “we should live beyond ourselves.”
Folu Adeboye, sharing her perspective, explained that the purpose of Horizon 2033 is to “cultivate future leaders, shaping them into global citizens with strong moral values, integrity, a strong work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit.” She stressed the importance of taking action in a world filled with narratives of disaster.
Folu also expressed AMG’s commitment to achieving its target by collaborating with governments, multilateral organizations, philanthropic entities, and individuals who share their vision.
